RHR Teaser 2

Here’s a quick update on the status of Run, Humanoid, Run!

I’ve got bombs that explode when you touch them, turrets that rotate and shoot in 8 directions, keys that unlock electrified doors, electrified doors that will fry your ass if you touch them, and robots that… well the robots just stand there for the moment because I haven’t written any AI for them yet.

I’m working without a design doc or an exact game that I want to emulate so I’m not sure of the final direction. I’m just playing with pixels, Flixel, and FlashDevelop!

Run, Humanoid, Run! Teaser

Working on another quick Flixel game. Once again, I’m using some Gameboy-inspired visuals. Here is the title screen:

So far, all I have done is the pixel art. I’m thinking about trying out the voice synthesis features of LSDJ for sound.

Gunpei Mania Teaser 2

Busy day today so I haven’t had much time to work on this, but here’s an update showing off Flixel’s particle emitter as an enemy spaceship is being destroyed:

Gunpei Mania Teaser

Not my most fabulous title screen, but here’s a teaser of my new Flixel-based project:

I’ve spent all of about a day on it so far, but again, I must say Flixel is awesome.

Free Font – 8bit

I designed a simple retro-style font called 8-bit to use on my thesis game. It was created using the online tool FontStruct. It is a normal TrueType font so it should work on pretty much any OS.

I’m releasing it for others to use under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 United States License. Happy Christmahanakwanzika.

Blender 2.5 Alpha 0 Released

This is a few days late since the new alpha version of Blender 2.5 was released back on Nov. 24. I finally had a chance to download and try the new build of Blender 2.5. This is a pretty amazing redesign. I really like the new interface. Here are the important links:
