Abstract

Choosing a game engine is an important task for independent game developers because this choice will affect every step of the game development process from the initial learning stages through the coding and building phases, all the way to the final delivery of the finished game. This paper presents the author’s experience designing a simple game and taking this design to fruition twice using two different game engines: Torque Game Builder and the Adobe Flash/Flex platform.
